Jingya Corporation, a leader in high-end hospitality operating in the Shandong Province for the past two decades, retained the office for the design of a radically new building, bringing together hospitality, entertainment, and business under a vast vertical garden. The curtain wrapping the entire complex was conceived as the mediating protocol between the programmatic use of the building’s interiors and the natural forces interacting with the building’s exteriors: the resulting envelope is a truly living system interacting with its users, while maintaining an ideal microclimate around the building by regulating moisture content, direct solar radiation, and temperature.
