Thomson Reuters retained Simone Giostra & Partners as the designers of a new iconic addition to the company’s headquarters in New York.

AirPix is the centerpiece of a  global branding effort promoting the new concept of “green media” to companies worldwide.

The project features an exceptionally lightweight pneumatic structure that radically transforms the top of the office tower in a fully interactive digital space .

The spheric screen offers opportunities for commercial and art related content alike, while flexible photovoltaic cells produce sufficient energy to power the screen.

The pneumatic structure provides exceptional environmental performance, including a self-contained air layer for thermal insulation in the winter season.

Flexible thin-film photovoltaic cells are applied to the upper ETFE layer, converting excessive heat gain in energy to power the digital media display.
