Store Concept and Flagship Store for hearing-impaired equipment

In developing the Store Concept and designing the Flagship Store of dEAR, a new global brand for hearing-impaired equipment, the office combined previous experiences in interactive technology with an investigation on the future of retail.

The store enhances the user’s visual and tactile experience by using large projection walls and touch-screens, while the concept of “blind” store explores new opportunities afforded by digital technology to retail branding.

A digital media wall covers the entire length of the store, providing an “information carpet” available to the costumers in the various sections of the store.

The materials selected for the store convey a sense of simplicity and sophistication, combined with a spatial articulation and a visual complexity given by reflecting and translucent surfaces.
